Thermal paste ARCTIC MX-7, 2g, Gray

MX‑7 is Arctic’s newest thermal paste, developed over roughly three years and positioned as their best formula to date. The main improvements include:

• Lower thermal resistance → better heat transfer

• Higher cohesion → the paste does not separate or dry out easily

• More viscous than MX‑6, but less than MX‑4

• Electrically non‑conductive and non‑capacitive → safe for CPUs, GPUs, laptops and consoles

Performance

According to Arctic’s internal testing:

• Up to 2.3°C lower temperatures compared to MX‑6

• Up to 4.1°C lower temperatures compared to MX‑4

Consistency and Application

MX‑7 is a thick and highly viscous paste with a high filler content. This means:

• It is not suitable for spreading with a spatula (Arctic explicitly advises against it)

• It should be applied using the X‑pattern method, allowing the cooler to spread it evenly

• Its low adhesion helps the paste distribute uniformly under pressure
