Hisense is a Chinese state-owned company and a manufacturer of major home appliances and electronics. The company’s headquarters is located in Qingdao, PRC. The Hisense Corporation was founded in 1969 and is one of the ten largest electronics-related companies in China. It specializes in the development and production of high-tech products and also owns a chain of hotels. Its products are exported to more than 100 countries.

The Hisense Corporation was established in 1969 based on a radio equipment manufacturing factory in the city of Qingdao. In 2015, the company obtained the right to sell its televisions under the Sharp brand in the markets of North and South America. In 2017, it acquired the television manufacturing division of the Japanese company Toshiba (Toshiba Visual Solutions). In 2018, Hisense acquired 95.4% of the shares of the company Gorenje.
